Quotation comparison

Organize supplier quotations so buyers can compare more than a single unit price.

Service overview

A quotation is only comparable when the suppliers are pricing the same product, quantity, packaging, and delivery basis. Small differences in material, accessories, carton configuration, tooling, payment terms, or delivery responsibility can make a low unit price more expensive or less suitable once the complete order is considered.

YIMO organizes supplier offers into one buyer-facing structure and keeps every unclear point visible. The purpose is not to select a winner automatically. It is to show what each offer includes, what it excludes, which assumptions are different, and which questions must be answered before the buyer approves a sample or order.

01

Buyers who have received several prices that use different formats or assumptions.

02

Projects where packaging, tooling, customization, timing, or delivery terms materially affect cost.

03

Teams that need a concise comparison for an internal purchasing decision.

Why it matters

Two quotations may describe different specifications, packaging, quantities, payment terms, or lead times. A lower headline price does not always mean a comparable offer.

02

What YIMO can organize

  • Place key quotation fields into one buyer-facing comparison structure.
  • Record MOQ, unit price, sample terms, lead time, packaging, and available commercial notes.
  • Highlight missing or differently defined information that needs follow-up.
  • Summarize practical trade-offs without making the buyer's final commercial decision.

What the buyer provides

  • 01The specification and quantity that every supplier should quote against
  • 02Preferred currency, destination, and delivery terms if already known
  • 03The factors that matter most: price, time, customization, packaging, or flexibility

How the work moves

A visible sequence from request to buyer decision.

  1. 01

    Fix the comparison basis

Confirm the product version, specification, quantity, currency, packaging, destination, and requested trade term that suppliers should quote against.

  2. 02

    Normalize the fields

Place unit price, MOQ, samples, tooling, customization, production timing, packaging, payment terms, quotation validity, and delivery basis into the same structure.

  3. 03

    Separate included and excluded costs

Record whether moulds, printing, labels, cartons, testing, inland transport, export handling, freight, insurance, duty, or tax are included, excluded, or still unconfirmed.

  4. 04

    Clarify differences

Return to suppliers with focused questions when materials, tolerances, accessories, lead times, or commercial terms are described differently.

  5. 05

    Summarize the trade-offs

Show how the offers differ in price, flexibility, timing, clarity, and unresolved risk so the buyer can decide what needs a sample, negotiation, or written confirmation.

Working example

Example: the lowest price uses a different packaging basis

Supplier A quotes a lower unit price but excludes retail packaging and uses a higher MOQ. Supplier B includes printed packaging, has a shorter quotation-validity period, and requests a tooling charge. A normalized comparison separates these items and shows the estimated cost basis without pretending that unconfirmed freight, duty, or testing charges are known. The buyer can then compare the commercial choices on the same basis.

What you can receive

01A structured comparison sheet
02A list of differences and missing information
03Questions to clarify before confirmation

Common questions

Know what the service does—and what still needs confirmation.

01Does YIMO recommend the cheapest supplier?

No. YIMO can organize the facts and highlight trade-offs, but the buyer makes the commercial decision. Product fit, evidence, communication, timing, payment exposure, and unresolved questions may matter as much as unit price.

02Can landed cost be included?

A working estimate can be organized when cargo data, route, trade terms, customs basis, duty, tax, and destination charges are available. Final landed cost still depends on the actual shipment and current official requirements.

03What if suppliers quote different specifications?

The differences are recorded explicitly. The buyer may standardize the specification for a new quotation round or keep alternatives visible if the purpose is to compare product directions.

Scope boundary

Prices, lead times, payment terms, and availability remain subject to each supplier's written confirmation and may change with specifications or order timing.
